On the banks of the picturesque Belon River, in an area known for its world-famous oysters, a headstrong aging actress discovers the corpse of a man. Shortly thereafter, Commissioner Dupin receives news from the legendary hills of Monts d'Arrée, a land of tales about fairies and the devil. A dead man has also been found there, whose identity the police do not know. When the commissioner discovers that the clues lead to the mafia, Celtic brotherhoods, and mysterious druidic cults, he begins to suspect that this will be his most bizarre case yet...
