This publication traces the history of Czechoslovak and Czech figure skating from its very beginnings to the present day, including introductory chapters on how people started skating and then figure skating. Each chapter focuses on a specific period in history and the most significant Czech, or rather Czechoslovak representatives of that time. Thanks to the provision of unique materials from the Czech Figure Skating Association, it unveils a truly interesting and rich history of this very popular sport in the Czech Republic and also includes personal testimonies from figure skating stars such as Jozef Sabovčík, Eva Graham Romanová, Radka Kovaříková, René Novotný, Petr Barna, and others. The book is supplemented with a rich photographic appendix and concludes with an overview of medalists and championships significant for our figure skating.
