Beschreibung
For the very first time, the book "Queen of Battles – The Rise of Modern Artillery and the Czech Lands" presents readers with recently discovered information about a significant reform of the Austrian artillery. This reform largely took place in Southern Bohemia between 1744 and 1753. The new artillery contributed to many defeats of the Prussian army from 1756 onwards, including the victory at the Battle of Kolín on June 18, 1757, thus helping to preserve the territorial integrity of the Czech state. The new armament and tactics were gradually adopted by all European armies, and we still encounter them today. The reader will also become acquainted with the history of artillery before 1744 and its development up to the present day, in which many Czech artillerymen and technicians played a role.
