Beschreibung
Major changes in the economy have always been preceded by unpredictable events. The plague, the Spanish flu, and COVID-19 arrived unexpectedly. A random sequence of events led to World War I or the rise of Hitler. Sudden occurrences also included the stock market crash in New York in 1929, the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, or the global financial crisis of 2008. We will never be able to predict a major power grid failure, banking system collapse, cyberattack, or bioterrorism. Nor a nuclear or ecological disaster. Nor war, solar flares, or the arrival of an extraterrestrial body. It is far easier than predicting the occurrence of another devastating event to realize that countries, nations, residents, entrepreneurs, or companies can better mitigate the impacts of disasters if they have savings, wealth, and cushions in better times, rather than a pile of debts.
