A FASCINATING STORY OF THE LARGEST RELOCATION OF PRODUCTION CAPACITIES IN THE HISTORY OF THE CZECHOSLOVAK ARMS INDUSTRY. When assessing the defense capability of Czechoslovakia in 1938, the numbers of soldiers, divisions, aircraft, artillery, and tanks are tallied, along with their quality and deployment possibilities. Other aspects, such as the readiness of strategic plans, adequately secured logistics, and the replacement of destroyed equipment and consumed ammunition during combat, usually remain overlooked. The developed Czechoslovak arms industry was capable of fully ensuring the latter items, provided that arms production was not disrupted. The high command of the Czechoslovak army was aware of this. For this reason, in the 1930s, the Supreme Council of Defense decided to relocate arms factories from the threatened areas of Bohemia to the secure hinterland in eastern Moravia and western Slovakia. In connection with the relocation of the armories, it was necessary to resolve the corresponding legislation and economic and logistical support.
