Beschreibung
A fascinating and dark dystopia from a world where society has enacted a new law: Every child has the right to life from the moment of conception until the age of thirteen. Between thirteen and eighteen, it is up to the parents whether they raise the child to adulthood or send them to be 'unwound.' This subtle word means that problem children, orphans, or simply those who have too much defiance within them are sent to harvest camps, where their bodies are taken apart and their organs given to those in need. Three of them, Connor, Risa, and Lev, are brought together by chance while on the run, held together by desperation. They know that if they survive until their eighteenth birthday, nothing can happen to them. However, when the crazy world craves every piece of them, starting with their hands and ending with their hearts, their eighteenth birthday seems a very distant goal.
