A sci-fi thriller for fans of Adrian Tchaikovsky, Neal Stephenson, and Alastair Reynolds.
The Platform is a sci-fi thriller with two plot lines that ultimately intersect perfectly. One follows the story of two boys whose lives are terrifyingly intertwined, while the other explores seemingly insignificant murders that lead to something much greater.
On the planet Gehenna, the only world in the System where people still worship God, the immensely talented Alef meets Pellonhorc, the son of the head of a criminal empire that controls almost the entire System. They become loyal friends, and their lives ultimately influence the fates of all.
On the planet Chmura, Razer is writing a story for PravPovídky, a page on Píseň. Coincidentally, the person she is writing about gets caught up in a series of murders and conspiracies that could affect the entire System.
All of this takes place in times when humanity, after the destruction of Earth, has settled on many terraformed planets. They are all connected by Píseň, an information superhighway, and held together by the AfterLife program.
