This Czech-language children’s comic follows Mája, who adores animals, perhaps with the exception of mosquitoes, and gets along with them perfectly. People are much more complicated, while science, macaroni and cheese, and the dream of becoming a world-famous zoologist matter greatly to her. Mája imagines having an amazing laboratory in a jungle tree and a monkey assistant named Hugo. One day she discovers a strange, foul-smelling creature in the garbage bin behind her house and immediately recognizes a perfect scientific opportunity: she has found a new species. Where did it come from, and what does it eat? But when the mysterious little creature suddenly disappears, Mája must investigate. The story takes the form of her delightful diary of observations and is intended for children from the age of eight.
