The book presents an anthology of famous adventure stories from classic world literature, ranging from Jack London's Love of Life, in which the author describes the story of a gold miner fighting for survival against hunger and the dangers of the harsh Canadian North, to Uncle Tom's Cabin by American writer Harriet Beecher Stowe, which significantly influenced the Anglo-Saxon world in the fight against slavery, and the notoriously well-known tale of the lonely castaway Robinson Crusoe. The works of Jules Verne, Bret Harte, Karl May, and Rudyard Kipling are also included. The stories have been translated, adapted, and retold by Vladimír Hulpach. The texts are accompanied by beautiful illustrations by Zdeněk Burian, which are inextricably linked to the reader's perception of the romantic adventure genre. The book is intended for children aged 10 and up.
