Most people consider winter to be completely unsuitable for traveling. The winter landscape is dominated by winter sports, that is clear. But it is not quite so. Even though it may not seem like it in the landscape, it is a time of turning. The strength of the sun, and thus light, begins to slowly, subtly return. Everything in the landscape seems to be asleep, but everything is gaining strength for rebirth. The sun is awaited, and after the solstice, it begins to return to the landscape.
