Beschreibung
A charming area loved by hikers, tourists, and locals alike, a beautiful range of wooded hills that forms the landscape between Prague and Plzeň. The Brdy mountains attract visitors year-round – from the spring awakening of nature to summer hikes, autumn mushroom picking, and winter cross-country skiing. The Brdy offer their unique atmosphere, stunning nature, and plenty of valuable monuments. Alongside significant castles (Dobříš, Hořovice, Mníšek pod Brdy) and ecclesiastical complexes (Příbram – Svatá Hora, Zbraslav), there are extraordinary technical monuments (Příbram - Březové Hory) and reminders of small crafts, charming little exhibitions (Starý Rožmitál), and places associated with notable personalities (Čapkova Strž). After many years, we can explore the Brdy as a whole. The previously inaccessible area of the military training ground in the Central Brdy is now opening up, and new hiking trails will gradually be marked here. A new publication, BRDY, dedicated to the entire Brdy area (including the central part), is also available, divided into chapters according to the main centers. It tells about nature, history, monuments, how the Brdy can impact a person, and what stories have unfolded here. It is supplemented by a very practical overview of marked hiking trails and the most beautiful excursions.
