From the end of the Napoleonic Wars to the establishment of Austria-Hungary (1815-1867), as in the previous volume of Journeys, our steps will again predominantly lead through the first half of the 19th century. The focus of development was then the more advanced western part of the continent, especially France and England. From there, historical impulses spread eastward. And while impulses from England were primarily industrial, France nourished Europe with ideas. In the most recent, seventh volume of Journeys, we read about the period from the end of the Napoleonic Wars to the establishment of Austria-Hungary (1815-1867).
