Besides causing countless damage to potato crops for decades (and still does) with its ability to develop immunity to pesticides and various biopreparations, it was labeled in Czechoslovakia in the early 1950s as a treacherous 'imperialist' weapon aimed at starving our young socialist homeland. In neighboring Czechia, it was called the 'American bug.' Today, the Colorado potato beetle is a symbol of the absolute absurdity of communist propaganda.
