Beschreibung
This textbook is a continuation of the first volume of the same name. It presents further, already somewhat advanced university topics in linear algebra and mathematical analysis in a clear, accessible, and engaging manner, considering the practically oriented reader who, although not wanting to be a professional mathematician, is interested in penetrating the essence of basic concepts and statements. The method is – teaching through examples, aimed not only at motivating and understanding the properties of mathematical objects but also at practicing and revealing possible pitfalls in their practical use. Concepts are correctly built and defined, statements are derived, proven, or at least explained. The reader will be convinced that mathematics does not have to be just a dry science, as it is often perceived. It can be very understandable and sometimes even fun. Although the book is primarily intended for students of natural sciences and engineering fields, it can also be useful for other interested parties seeking a deeper insight into the issues. Therefore, it may also appeal to gifted high school students or their teachers. The book is divided into two volumes, which are not sold separately.
