Tělo - výraz - obraz - koncept – Stehlíková Babyrádová Hana (2019)

The monograph focuses on the professional reflection of contemporary perceptions of the body and corporeality in the context of visual art. Besides texts revealing the close relationships between the body and the soul, further connotations are found in the traditional conception of the body in the mirror of culture. This classically grasped paradigm stands in contrast to the postmodern perspective and to questions concerning gender and sexuality issues. The publication is not just a mere theoretical treatise; it also encompasses a rich photo documentation presenting the contemporary local and global art scene. Both in content and visually, it draws from a journey to the renowned metropolis - New York. The role of this journey is inscribed into a deeper accentuation of questions related to the reflected thematic discourse. A significant part of the book consists of individual authentic interviews that were conducted with the participation of renowned Czech artists - Veronika Bromová, Luboš Plný, and Marie Tomanová. Finally, an interview with American curator and artist Lissa Rivera is included.
