The monograph "Czech in Motion" presents the results of the scientific work of a team of linguists from the Department of Czech Language at the Faculty of Education, Masaryk University. Their research focused on the changing phenomena of contemporary Czech, such as the area of proper names, specifically the use of toponyms and chrematonyms, or the gendering of foreign female surnames. The morphological issues are addressed in two chapters: one on variant forms of borrowed words and the other on secondary prepositions. A detailed analysis of the univocality of names of means of transport is included. In the stylistic area, the research concentrated on the function of expressiveness in journalism and the development of vocabulary in contemporary journalism. The sphere of everyday communication is examined using linguistic material from the vicinity of Broumov. The final chapter deals with dialogue in contemporary fiction. The unifying element of the entire monograph is the analysis of dynamic phenomena in contemporary Czech.
