Rozvod a změny reprodukčních strategií – Fučík Petr (2013)

Since the beginnings of sociological thought, the family has been understood as the basic unit ensuring the reproduction of society at both the biological level and the level of social rules, norms, values, and institutions. The theoretical question in the most general terms is as follows: How will the mechanisms of social reproduction differ in a situation where the increasing possibility of partnership dissolution expands the group of people who are forced to redefine their life paths and reproductive strategies? What new reproductive mechanisms can we find if a significant portion of children undergo socialization in single-parent families or mixed-type families? The first part of the analysis corresponds to a quantitative descriptive approach and, through secondary analysis, aims to describe various aspects of post-divorce situations: the social situation of divorced households, the parenting paths of women who have experienced divorce, and the formation of new partnerships. At the same time, we examine the effectiveness of intergenerational transmission of educational levels in divorced families compared to intact ones. At this stage, we enrich our data base with qualitative in-depth interviews.
