The book of letters by Jiřina Nováková-Haazsová complements our image of the personality of Arne Novák by adding a human dimension. It allows us to sensitively glimpse into his private life and thus enriches our view of this great scientist and significant figure of Masaryk University and the entire Czech culture of the 20th century. We understand the publication of this book as a tribute to the legacy of rector Arne Novák on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of his death, and at the same time, with its publication, we celebrate the ninety years of existence of Masaryk University, to whose development Arne Novák contributed in an extraordinary way.
