Seventy-six-year-old Martin Brehm is happy and satisfied with his life. His much younger wife is a successful painter, he writes articles for newspapers, contributes to a film script, and in his free time tends to the garden. Most importantly, he takes care of his six-year-old son, David. When he learns that he has only a few months left to live, his reality suddenly shatters. He experiences a range of previously unknown feelings. His mind is filled with many questions for which there are no right answers.
