Tucker (1954–2011) was an American political scientist and one of the world's leading experts on chemical and biological weapons. After studying at Yale University, he earned a bachelor's degree in biology and then a Ph.D. in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, focusing on defense and disarmament issues. After completing his studies, he worked as a disarmament specialist for the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment, the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, and also for the U.S. Department of State. Dr. Tucker was an editor for the journals High Technology and Scientific American. He published extensively on military technologies, biotechnology, and biomedical research.
