Anahit, the daughter of an Armenian immigrant, lives a happy life alongside her beloved husband. He has a good job in the U.S. Navy, while she earns extra money as an Armenian interpreter and occasional translator for the police in San Diego. They have a nice house, are united by love, and face the common problems of all young couples.
Until one Sunday morning, when she decides to visit her aging father and persuade him to move in with them. From the moment she arrives at his house, everything she knew seems to have vanished. Her father's sudden death opens the door to the past. Dark and mysterious. And with it come questions. Who was he really? Why is Anahit suddenly fighting for her life? What will the long-hidden documents reveal?
The young woman gradually finds answers. She discovers what once happened in the territory of the Ottoman Empire. And why she is forever linked to this terrifying history.
