Peter, the only son of biologist Tomáš and nurse Klaudie, suddenly falls seriously ill. Despite great efforts, the doctors are unable to determine the correct diagnosis, and his condition worsens. Tomáš, the father, enters the fight for his son's life. When a suspicion about the disease flashes in his mind due to his experience and knowledge of biology, he immediately begins searching for its cause. He places his hopes in a quick and reliable diagnostic method conducted by private laboratories. It is there that he encounters his former love, molecular biologist Zuzana, who tries her best to help him, even though she is going through a tough time with her jealous husband Patrik. Will the diagnosis be confirmed, one that has not yet appeared in Slovakia, and for which only timely treatment can help, and sometimes not even that? Is this the beginning of an epidemic? The parasite shows no mercy, and another case of the disease is on the rise...
