I don’t say this lightly, you old ugly pig, but you really wrote a good book. It has guts, it has drive, a precise rhythm, you ride your own wave, you don’t fall off it, you don’t bore, specific information like 'dad said, grandpa used to say' that name the filthy times even in nourishing details, you dose so sensitively that they don’t stick out from the mood of the book, the language of the young hero is precise, even the fact that you disregarded all sorts of punctuation and other minor details is fine, the reader caught firmly by the balls from the start, relentlessly dragged through the cheerfully grim world of young Žižkov hipsters, has no time or desire to pay attention to it, doesn’t even notice it, and above all! the stench of that unsavory time wafts from your excellent book, making eyes water. Especially for those who, just a few years before your hero, intimately knew all those Žižkov nooks – from Briketa, through the overgrown, dilapidated Jewish oven, to the gatehouse in the girls' block in Jarov...
