He depicts the feelings of the conscript, his struggles during military service, and his gradual transformation into a soldier capable of defending his homeland. He also describes the commanders and their abilities, whether positive or negative, but always leading to a single goal – to teach soldiers to fight and defend their homeland. Today, everything is hard to understand, and according to the author, that is a shame, because this experience, despite some hardships, is an unforgettable memory and also a life lesson.
