This novel is inspired by the story of three members of the British secret service during the troubled time just before the outbreak of World War II. The adventurous journey of the story's heroes leads to the hotspots of the conflicts of the time – the Spanish Civil War and the fight against rebels in what was then British Mandatory Palestine. Most of the characters and events you will encounter in the story are historically documented. You will learn, for example, about the beginnings of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, and you will become acquainted with the names of leading terrorists, predecessors of today's leaders of Al-Qaeda and other sinister organizations. You will also visit fascist Italy, whose tragic alliance with Nazi Germany had not yet been fully resolved at that time. Perhaps the historical framework of the story will lead you to a better understanding of some events that still influence the lives of the inhabitants of our planet today.
