Beschreibung
Disinformation and hate speech have become common topics in our discussions. Awareness of the risks associated with these phenomena is growing in proportion to the uncertainty of whether we can understand them, let alone effectively confront them. International research can provide support, attempting to answer the following questions: How do disinformation and hate speech typically spread? What is the common impact of their manifestations on the behavior and psyche of individuals and groups? What type of defense proves effective, and which does not? The book serves as a guide to current research on disinformation and hate speech from the perspective of philosophy and legal theory. It also includes the latest insights derived from practice focused on combating these phenomena. Numerous textual and visual examples of hate speech and disinformation are primarily associated with the period of the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
