Beschreibung
The atlas contains photographs of 450 species of antlered plants, mosses, ferns, and seed plants that can be found in our standing and flowing waters or in alternately flooded, marshy, or very humid habitats. The photographs are complemented by descriptions and ecological characteristics of each species, data on their distribution in the Czech Republic, and notes on potential usefulness or toxicity. A brief general section of the book summarizes basic knowledge about the ecology of the various groups of aquatic and wetland plants, their communities, and ecosystem functions and services. The atlas is intended for a wide range of individuals interested in plant life in our waters and wetlands. It will also serve as a useful guide for both professional and amateur nature conservationists and in teaching at secondary and higher education institutions focused on natural sciences, fisheries, agriculture, forestry, and water management.
