Beschreibung
Jedlan, Marr, Kataj, Kajem – these are not the names of boys from a club inspired by the Fast Arrows. They are the nicknames of the Green Walkers: Jan Řezáč, Josef Prošek, Jaroslav Rychlý, and Miloš Hájek. This is one of the lesser-known and historically overlooked poetic groups that operated illegally in Prague during and shortly after World War II. They primarily built upon pre-war surrealism, which they later transformed with their own creative input into what is known as monsturalism. Of the long list of realized samizdat publications, some are irretrievably lost, while others have survived. And all of those that have survived – alongside the titular Green Walkers, these include the anthologies Meanwhile, Protective Means, The Ability of Reality, Toilets, and PF 49 – are collected in this volume.
