Beschreibung
A documentary and partially memoir book based on historical sources, interviews with eyewitnesses and participants, and personal experiences tells the story of the events of the Prague Spring of 1968. It includes a broad and detailed historical background as well as a look into the everyday lives of citizens and soldiers, and the book is imbued with the emotional spirit of this revolutionary period. It significantly focuses on debunking the established myths that still surround this historical chapter, and the stories are often presented from multiple perspectives. The first part recalls the domestic and international contexts of the Prague Spring, its course, and causes; the second part deals directly with Bulgarian participation in the intervention and its echoes in Bulgaria – from August 1968 to the present day.
