The second, expanded and revised edition of the encyclopedic publication (1st edition 2004), which covers the period from roughly the beginning of the 14th century (when, thanks to preserved written sources, the creators of architectural monuments began to emerge from anonymity) to the second half of the 20th century. The individual entries contain all currently known facts, including biographical data. The authors have also incorporated the latest results of archival research, some of which have not been published before; if architects or builders worked outside the territory of today's Czech Republic, the dictionary also includes these works. The publication is an indispensable guide not only for historians, art historians, and heritage conservationists, but also for anyone interested in architecture and architectural monuments.
