Mluvte čínsky hezky: prozodie hovorové čínštiny – Třísková Hana (2022)

Do you want to speak Chinese fluently and master the natural rhythm of this language? The presented textbook will illuminate what happens to Chinese words when they enter the reality of continuous speech. It introduces the basic prosodic phenomena of spoken colloquial Chinese, such as stress and its interplay with tones, the weakened pronunciation of auxiliary words, phrasing, sentence intonation, and the influences of the information structure of the utterance. The material is clarified through audio recordings of approximately 80 sentences spoken by native speaker Tchang Jün-ling Rusková. The sentences are recorded along with the entire text of the book on the included audio medium. They are transcribed in the prosodic transcription CHIPROT based on the Latin transcription pinyin (the author presents it here for the first time). The guide is professionally phonetically grounded but also aims to engage users in an accessible and playful manner. The text is thus lightened by illustrations by Ak. mal. Zhang Dan Gajdošová. The material is intended primarily for second-semester students of Sinology, but also for other interested parties in spoken Chinese who want to get closer to the pronunciation of native speakers.
