Beschreibung
The glacial kettle in the Great Basin of the Hrubý Jeseník is ranked among the most species-rich botanical sites in the Czech Republic. The diversity of flora and vegetation is also linked to the species richness of fauna, particularly invertebrates. The first part of the monograph contains detailed floristic, phytosociological, and faunistic data based on nearly fifty years of the author's field research and reviews of existing scientific literature, including works from the 19th century. It includes detailed maps of current vegetation from 1974 and 2009, along with their comparison. Lists of vascular plant species, lichens, mosses, fungi, invertebrate animals, and vertebrates, as well as unique phytocoenoses and biotopes, are documented by several hundred color photographs. Digital maps and comprehensive phytosociological tables are included on the attached CD. The book also includes a printed map of the established local toponymy of individual terrain features and watercourses.
