Beschreibung
The book presents a synthetic interpretation of Karl Jaspers' thought and influence on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his death through his political engagement. Jaspers became one of the most influential modern German philosophers first as the founder of existential philosophy, and after World War II as an initiator of its turn towards the historical and political dimension of human existence, which has newly proven to be unavoidable. The presented publication brings the first Czech monograph on Jaspers and one of the most extensive on an international scale, working with a previously untapped amount of archival materials from Jaspers' estate and correspondence.
