Beschreibung
The book provides information on the biology and ecological requirements of one hundred and one species of ladybugs living in Central Europe. Most species are illustrated with photographs of adult beetles from collections or even from nature. For a smaller number of species, photographs of larvae and pupae are also included. Identification keys for adult beetles and larvae will allow for the identification of specimens based on diagnostic features for tribes, genera, and species, as well as according to color patterns on the elytra and thorax (for larvae on the upper side of the abdomen), or based on other distinctive morphological traits. Morphological traits are illustrated with black-and-white drawings included in the image appendix located between the Czech and English texts. The text is supplemented by a revised list of tribes and genera of ladybugs from around the world.
