Parasitic nematodes (Nematoda) represent one of the most significant groups of fish parasites. This book is the first monograph dealing with nematodes of freshwater fish in Africa, allowing for their species identification. In addition to three short general chapters, the publication provides identification keys, diagnoses of higher taxonomic units, and descriptions and illustrations of all species of nematodes parasitizing fish as adults or only as larvae. The text also provides information about their hosts, localization in the host, distribution, and, where data exists, also about their developmental cycles and ecology. In this way, the book discusses 120 species of nematodes belonging to 47 genera and 21 families of these parasites.
