Beschreibung
The Czech flora is very rich and diverse due to its location in the heart of Europe. During the Ice Age, it was enriched by plants from the cold north, later by warmth-loving plants from southern Europe, and it is still influenced by the proximity of two major European mountain ranges, the Alps and the Carpathians. Many other plants have arrived due to human influence, both intentionally and as unwanted invaders. All these plants, totaling more than 3,700 species and subspecies, are described using the latest findings from systematics and field botany in a new, completely revised Key to the Flora of the Czech Republic. Identification is facilitated by excellent pen drawings and concise text with descriptions of the plants and information about their distribution, most common habitats, and flowering times. The key is intended for anyone interested in plant identification, especially botanists, students, teachers, and conservationists.
