Beschreibung
The subject of this publication is the theme of Euroscepticism in Central European countries, specifically in two German-speaking countries and four countries that form the informal political grouping known as the Visegrad Group. Attention is paid to party Euroscepticism, which has its position in each of the observed states. In the party systems of individual Central European countries, there are political parties that are Eurosceptic or have elements of Euroscepticism. There are numerous reasons for the occurrence of Eurocritical attitudes and the corresponding establishment of politically oriented entities, with the key being a combination of long-term characteristic historical, ethnocultural, geographical, and other factors (and the corresponding clash between proponents of nationally and universally oriented politics) and the increase in socio-economic problems at present (the influence of the economic crisis, globalization, etc.). This causes Eurocritical political entities to play the role of a protest alternative to mainstream parties on the political scene.
