A generous project of detailed art-historical topography of Prague, the first volume – Old Town of Prague and Josefov – was published in 1996, followed by publications discussing other historical parts of Prague (New Town with Vyšehrad, Lesser Town, Prague Castle, and Hradčany). It is now concluding with the second volume of the topography of Greater Prague, which means the towns and municipalities gradually annexed to Prague. In 2012, a volume titled Greater Prague, A–L was published, and this publication, Greater Prague, M–Ž, is its continuation, divided into two volumes due to its extent. It might seem that the main wealth of Prague's heritage fund is concentrated in the aforementioned historical parts of Prague. However, in the broader Prague center (in districts such as Vinohrady, Karlín, Vršovice, and others) and in the outskirts of Prague, there are also a large number of architectural monuments from the medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and later periods: fortresses, castles, churches, chapels, farmsteads, villas, apartment buildings, monuments, etc. This volume also maintains the structure of the previous publications.
