The Committee for the Defense of the Unjustly Persecuted (VONS) was an independent initiative aimed at monitoring cases of individuals who were prosecuted or imprisoned for expressing their beliefs or who became victims of police and judicial arbitrariness, informing the public and authorities about these cases, and assisting the affected individuals. The committee prepared statements on individual cases; from its establishment in April 1978 until the end of 1989, it created a total of 1,125. What can you learn from them? The presented publication represents the first critical edition of these documents.
