Beschreibung
The aim of the book study is to capture the rules applicable in the agonistic space, into which literary experts enter with their speeches and texts as subjects, and within which they are mutually measured, assessed, and evaluated. The author starts from the assumption that thinking about literature co-forms the transpersonal memory of a certain collective (traditionally a nation, but increasingly also the scientific community itself) and is simultaneously a space for the individual creativity of the experts. Literary historians, theorists, critics, or teachers are interpreted as active participants in speech games, who must formulate and advocate their opinions and concepts in cooperation and competition with others, which also forces them to choose certain roles and strategies. And because he is also aware that the rules of the game are variable over time, he also captures shifts in thinking about literature from the positivist emphasis on facts through the belief that the key to knowledge is the choice of the right method, i.e., a generally applicable procedure, to the contemporary conceptual literary science, which value-wise prefers one-time demonstrations of novelty, creativity, and unrepeatable uniqueness. It is published in the Literary Series.
