O českou literaturu naukovou – Piorecká Kateřina (2012)

The anthology in one volume makes accessible the foundational texts that helped shape Czech humanities. The most important aspect seemed to be ensuring institutional conditions for the humanities; theoretical and methodological questions were not a priority, although they were at least implicitly present in some texts. The first section of the anthology offers all the texts from the discussion 'How to Improve Our Scientific Literature?', which took place in the Athenaeum in the 1980s. The debate was conducted on a theoretical level, and its stimuli gradually gained traction (the publication of a general encyclopedia, the establishment of an academy of sciences, the emergence of educational editions, etc.). At the same time, it changed the social discourse – it opened up space for discussion. A year later, articles questioning the authenticity of the Králové Dvorský and Zelenohorský Manuscripts followed, and methodological and programmatic papers from various scientific disciplines also refer to it. In the subsequent sections of the anthology, at least in two probes, texts are offered that helped shape historical sciences and literary history and organize research in these fields.
