Another year on Diddly Squat Farm finds Jeremy Clarkson still knee-deep in mud and facing endless challenges. Since taking the wheel three years ago, he has learned the hard way that farming has only one golden rule: whatever you hope will happen, will not. His enthusiastic diversification schemes meet opposition from the red trouser brigade, defeat at the hands of the Council Planning department and predictable derision from Kaleb, while even Lisa doubts his plan to build a business empire based on rewilding and nettle soup. Cheerful Charlie remains the only person smiling about the flood of red tape, although he charges by the hour. Meanwhile, the sheep are gone, the cows have acquired a rented bull called Break-Heart Maestro, the pigs are producing piglets and the goats have turned out to be psychopaths. Despite the setbacks and the naysayers, Jeremy remains irrepressibly optimistic about life at Diddly Squat, especially when harvesting blackberries with a vacuum cleaner. After all, Break-Heart Maestro should not be the only one to enjoy a happy ending.
