The probationary period for employees will be extended by up to two months, and the notice period will begin upon delivery of the notice. Employers will have to keep the original position for parents on parental leave until the child is two years old. Fourteen-year-olds will be able to take summer jobs, but only with parental consent. The government expects these changes to make the labor market more flexible for both employees and employers.
The adjustments will also affect unemployment benefits starting from January next year. In the first months, it will increase from 65 percent to 80 percent of the previous average net earnings. In the last months, it will decrease from the current 45 percent to 40 percent of the earned amount. People aged 52 and older will receive state money for a longer period, currently, it is from 50 years. The same amount will be paid upon dismissal and voluntary job change. During retraining, the amount will be higher, at 80 percent of net earnings. The maximum possible amounts received will also increase. The rules for regaining benefits will be tightened, requiring nine months of work and contributions instead of the current six.
