Criminal Code – The amendment to criminal law is the most extensive in the last 16 years and responds to societal demand as well as the need to modernize criminal policy. It introduces the possibility of imposing a monetary penalty for any crime, which is intended to contribute to the meaningfulness of punishment and relieve the prison system. In serious cases, such as rape, a monetary penalty cannot be the only punishment. Newly classified as serious offenses are also the abuse of a entrusted person and individuals living in a shared household.
