The Memphis law firm Bendini, Lambert & Locke specializes in tax issues – it is small, inconspicuous, but very successful. It offers its employees the chance to get rich quickly, but also carefully selects them. Among the candidates is young, smart, and ambitious Mitch McDeere. He doesn't hesitate and, with a new company BMW, a new house, and a beautiful wife Abby, sets out towards a stellar career. However, one day the FBI approaches him and hints that the company's large profits do not come solely from legal dealings and that all the lawyers who wanted to leave the firm have died under mysterious circumstances… John Grisham's cult legal thriller still offers a hot topic even twenty years after its release – as evidenced by the American twenty-two-part television series produced by AXN (Sony Pictures Entertainment) in 2011: the third edition of the book version of The Firm is being released on the occasion of this series airing on Czech screens (from February 19, 2012, on AXN).
