King John of Luxembourg did everything possible for his son Charles to ascend the throne of the Holy Roman Empire, and he considers his life's mission complete. Although he is practically blind, it is a matter of honor for him not to avoid the battle between the French and the English, which is brewing not far from Crécy. A band of warriors from Bohemia is also heading there, including the knight Matouš Rozoumek along with his stepson Josef of Liechtenstein. The departure of most warriors from Vildštejn presents an opportunity for a band of deserters hiding in the surrounding forests to attack Rozoumek's fortress. Does anyone among them remember the secret passage leading to Vildštejn? On the battlefield at Crécy, King Edward III of England leans over the fallen Czech king and removes three ostrich feathers from his helmet, which are still present in the coat of arms of Prince Wallesky today. Matouš Rozoumek also returns home with the injured Josef of Liechtenstein, but they have no idea what awaits them there...
