Beschreibung
An unknown guest visits the villa on the banks of the Řečovice River. They arrive through an old well and do not belong to the terrestrial world. Hana Strnadová is also drawn more to the world beneath the surface than to interpersonal relationships in the city. Unhappily in love, Jarda Vávra invites Hana's former psychologist, Radka Borská, to help him navigate his complicated relationship. The doctor's initial enthusiasm is replaced by disillusionment and the need for self-defense. Anonymous letters arrive at the Vávra family's home, and the days begin to taste like spoiled fish. The river lives its own life; after a long drought, the water level unexpectedly rises, returning to the residents what they carelessly threw into it during the winter.
