Beschreibung
It was only 66 years after its writing that the autobiographical novel by the famous representative of existentialism and feminism in French literature, Simone de Beauvoir, was published. The author considered her story too 'intimate' to publish. In it, she narrates the deep friendship between two girls who share the dramas of their first romantic infatuations, but are also united by their resistance to social conventions and the traditional female role in life. The book comes to readers with a foreword by the author's adoptive daughter Sylvie Le Bon de Beauvoir, as well as a wealth of authentic photographs.
