Beschreibung
Barnes's new novel is a love story between a young student and an aging woman, with all the consequences it brings to the lives of both protagonists. Like most of the author's novels, it is divided into three chronologically successive parts, in which there is a gradual revelation and deepening of the perspective on the fateful relationship. A love story set against the backdrop of a 'small picture' of British society in the 1960s, including its ingrained clichés and prudishness.
