Beca (Anna Kendrick) arrives at a new university and, as a heavy introvert, has no intention of making friends. She sticks to her plan until she stumbles upon the all-girls singing group The Bellas. This unusual mix, which includes likable girls, rivals, and oddballs, is united by a common desire to make their singing sound as good as possible. When the group manages to revitalize their repertoire with a much-needed burst of energy, they face off against male competitors in a school competition.
